Blog Project Inspiration

For this assignment in my online course, I was to find an example of a student blogging project which I found interesting. I found this blog. It is called the Intrepid Classroom. It basically deals with poetry and students responses. Their current project is called the Teen Life Project. Three teachers (Mr. Fisher/Canada, Mr. Hide/Columbia and Ms. Barber/US) are the moderators. Though I do not teach poetry, I found it interesting because it involved students from all over the world. I specifically enjoyed reading some previous posts from Jed’s Blog. He seems like the typical 8th grader that would be in my classroom. I think I could use the fact that there was communication between people from all over the world on various topics. In my class, I would love to be able to have students blog with other students who are interested in the same careers. To take it a step further, I would hope that they could blog with adults who are already in the career to get tips and advice. Connectivity is awesome!
